  • Train players on quick transitions between attack and defense.

Key Coaching Points

  • Passing & Precision: Ensure passes are firm, accurate, and purposeful.

  • Timing: Movements should align perfectly to create passing opportunities.

Instructions

Part 1: Passing Combination Drill

  • Striker starts by laying the ball off with one touch.

  • The attacking midfielder times their run to receive a through pass.

  • Finish with one touch on goal.

  • Rotate roles after every attempt.

Progression:

  • Introduce a defender to add pressure.

  • Allow for a 1v1 scenario after the midfielder receives the ball.

Part 2: 4v2 Rondo with Transition

  • Set up a grid with four reds (possessors) and two chasers.

  • Reds aim to complete five consecutive passes.

  • After five passes, they transition to attack the main goal.

  • If chasers win possession, they counterattack and score in the small goals.

Progression:

  • Reduce the space to increase difficulty.

  • Increase the number of chasers for more pressure.

  • Introduce an additional defender in the attacking transition phase.
